September 2013

This was our second stay at Kolea, and first in 16m. Despite being in the building farthest from the pool, we really loved the location. There is the barest of peekaboo views of the sunset from the balcony, which was a pleasant surprise. The furnishings were very nice and as pictured. The kitchen very well equipped, a backup propane tank on the Lanai BBQ and plenty of towels. They also provided ample laundry and dish detergent, so no need to buy your own. Beds were very comfortable. Another nice surprise was a couple of beach chairs, some beach toys and a cooler in the storage closet. I would definitely recommend this unit in Kolea. There is a limited but good quality selection of produce and food items at the Kings Shops Wednesday farmers market - don't miss the Honomu Jams booth (prices there are less than at the market or the permanent booth in the Shops)! They make the best jam on the Island! Love the pool here and the easy access to both A-bay beach and the beachside trail that takes you to the Hilton.

September 2013

My husband and I and another couple stayed here for a week in September 2013. The place met our needs wonderfully. The kitchen was stocked with all the cooking materials we needed. We enjoyed grilled dinners on the lanai and sunset walks on the beach. The condo is great for two couples, with 2 large bedrooms and 2 en-suite baths. The only negative thing I can think of for the place is that there wasn't an overhead light over the dining table and the lights around that area weren't bright enough to light up the table for dinner or game playing. Otherwise, it was perfect for us.

5 stars *****  "16M great value through SKM"

Rented unit 16M through South Kohala Management, (who were excellent to deal with) and found it to be a great value for the price. For under $300 we had 3 beds in a large two bedroom corner unit, top floor, plenty of room and for the most part everything was in excellent shape. Only small signs of past piglets were visible with some stains on the carpet and the seat cushions on the patio, nothing a good cleaning couldn't take care of. The Waikoloa resort area is perfect for walks and hikes through the King's trail and the 2 small shopping malls provide something to do when evening sets in. (Really enjoyed Roy's). The beach in front of the Kolea is not the greatest , but Hapuna Beach 6 miles up the road is easily one of the best in all of Hawaii. For groceries we liked the near-by Foodland at Mauna Lani better than the Island Gourmet at Queen's Marketplace, although at was handy for some things. We would definitely return!             Finkel1, Trip Advisor 4/19/14
