Hale Kea (the "White House") is situated in a completely private, beautifully landscaped setting with a stunning 180 degree ocean view and sunsets every day of the year. This architecturally significant residence was completely remodeled in 2006 and features a large private lap pool and glass tiled spa adjacent to the spacious, elegant lanai. The home uses terrazzo, Italian Carrera slab marble and imported glass tile extensively. The residence is beautifully furnished with locally handcrafted native, sustainable wood furniture, reclaimed teak furniture and classic designer pieces imported from Europe using custom Donghia Hawaii-themed fabrics. Designers featured include many contemporary and mid-century masters such as Richard Schultz, Eames, Phillipe Starck, Jens Risom for Pucci, Cherner, Chista, Buchfelder for Moss, Marcel Wanders, Verner Panton and Le Corbusier. Frette linens are provided in baths and bedrooms.

There are 2 bedrooms in the main house, each with a private bath, and 2 bedrooms in the detached "Hale I'i (the "Little House")." Other amenities include a media center with flatscreen TV/DVD/Stereo and sound in every room, wireless hi-speed internet access available throughout the house and lanai, a gourmet kitchen with Sub-zero and Viking appliances,including a wine cabinet, Dean & Deluca spices for your use and a water purification system for the home. Other amenities include a washer & dryer, extensive library, outdoor shower, once weekly maid service, gas BBQ on the lanai and air-conditioning in all the bedrooms. The home has a saline pool and spa which is gentler on the body than a chlorinated pool. Please note, the pool is NOT heated.

Mauna Kea Resort has two of the finest white sand beaches in Hawaii, Mauna Kea Beach and Hapuna Beach. The Resort boasts a fitness center, spa, 36 holes of golf and 13 tennis courts (usage fees apply). You may be required to purchase access to The Club at Mauna Kea to use some of the facilities on the resort. There are also a variety of restaurants and shops.
