The bed was incredibly comfortable, the bathroom felt like a spa, and the private lanai was the highlight—a perfect spot for morning coffee at sunrise and evenings watching the sky turn from fiery orange to star-studded night. The location was ideal—steps from pristine beaches and nearby trails, yet private and peaceful. Surrounded by palms and tropical flowers, it felt like a true retreat. Each day offered something new: snorkeling in crystal waters, hiking volcanic landscapes, or simply strolling along the shore... and our favorite: the helicopter ride. Returning to the quiet comfort of the room each evening made the experience complete. This stay balanced adventure with relaxation perfectly. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place was gorgeous! The view was fantastic and the studio was very spacious. We added on access to the Westin Hapuna resort connected to the residence, and couldn't be happier that we did! We could take an elevator and walk right to the beach or pool. Very very relaxing! The only thing I'd change was to add more light blocking shades. Although we loved the view, the sun came right in (as well as the light coming into the front door) so bring an eye mask. We had stayed in the Westin Hotel (Marriot property) before and wanted to try out the residences and it did not disappoint.This choice was actually a bit easier overall since we could self park a car very close by and were essentially on the same level as the adult pool and the workout facilityEven shorter walk to the beach than if you were staying at the hotel. Koala Management picked up the phone every time, both prior to the trip when a question needed answering and even one time during the day very impressiveWe will definitely come back !! ~Brian C. Absolutely perfect unit. Even closer to the beach and pool than pictures suggest. Pull out bed was huge and kids were very content to sleep in same bed (a rarity). I had read one of the reviews while I was investigating where to stay and they said it’s better than the pictures show…. I agree. It’s an amazing setting with sliding doors that open all the way so you feel like you are sitting outside. The beautiful unit and location are unbeatable. I shopped all the other resorts along the coast. My final decision was based on a couple things. None of the other properties have the white sand beach, a kitchen, laundry or resort amenities that you can use with the comfort of having a condo. ~Jeani J. (May 2024)

Having access to the Westin Hapuna and Mauna Kea pools, restaurants, bars and fitness center were great. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This suite at the Residences at the Westin looks brand new and the kitchen is outfitted with all the things you need to cook at home. (There are no leftover condiments so make sure you bring your own.) The south end of the apartment faces the beach and the Pacific and the floor to ceiling windows slide back into the wall. This brings the outdoors right into the apartment. The washer and dryer work great too. And paying the extra charge to have access to all the amenities of the Westin is well worth the extra charge. Make sure you enroll before your arrival. And you also have access to the Mauna Kea hotel which is a 20 minute nature walk along the coast. Hapuna Beach and Mauna Kea beach are the best beaches on the Big Island. We loved the whole experience. ~Don D. (July 2023)

Location was great.. as you only have to take stairs down and a short walk to the beach. Access to Mauna Kea Resort is ideal if you plan on staying here as they have many amenities that are essential in staying at this location. We have loved our two weeks in this apartment. It was exactly as depicted in the listing, the views are impossible to beat, Hapuna beach is so gorgeous and our favorite beach on Hawai’i island, the Westin staff are all so friendly and we got to know many of them, and it’s so convenient to Waimea and Waikoloa for incredible restaurants (we highly recommend our favorite, Merriman’s), shopping/groceries, and more! The check-in process was a little clunky due to a recent change in procedures, and we had a slight mechanical issue but both were solved with minor effort. The property location is perfect. You feel like you are in your own house but essentially connected to the Westin for the ease of morning coffee, sundry store and restaurants. With the purchase of the resort pass at the Westin ($75/day) you get access to all their pools and workout facilities plus discounts (>15%) on golf at both Hapuna (Westin side) and Mauna Kea. You also get use of beach chairs and umbrellas, paddle boards and no-charge valet parking at both Westin and Mauna Kea resorts. You also get the ability to charge to your room at both resorts. The Westin beach is smaller and more private, the Mauna Kea beach is larger but more people. Both offer stunning sand and water. The resorts offer a courtesy shuttle for dinner between the resorts but I highly recommend getting a rental car. There are over 100 shops and several restaurants and multiple grocery stores all within about 15 minute drive. The room was very nice for the size but too small for more than a couple or a couple and a single child. The bathroom was very nice and the kitchen is well appointed with luxury appliances and lots of pots and pans, silverware...etc if you wanted to cook every meal. They have grocery delivery service and you can also get room service with the purchase of the resort pass. The washer and dryer are small but large enough to wash three days worth of clothes for two people. There was a large TV with multiple entertainment options (Netflix, Hulu, internet TV). The bed was very comfortable and the internet service was great. The lanai opened wide for a 180* view of the beach and the mountains. For food and entertainment options we recommend Browns Beach House at the Fairmount (15 minute drive), Manta at Mauna Kea, Meridian at the Westin, Provisions at the Hilton Waikoloa (15 Minute drive), Lava Lava Beach Club and the Lu'au at Mauna Kea (on Tuesdays and Fridays suggest booking early and skipping the dinner option and the premium seating option). Ikena landing and Piko are great. Avoid both beach restaurants. Blue Hawaii Helicopters (Big Island Spectacular) will get you once in a life time experience of the island if you don't want to spend a day driving and exploring the island. Golf-Mauna Kea. Volcano National Park. Akaka and Rainbow Falls. South Pointe at Sunset and the Black Sand Beach. ~ Jeffrey M. (October 2021)
Really spectacular location. Can’t be beat for great beach access and sunset views. For a fee, you can also access the Mauna Kea and Hilton Hapuna resorts. The advantages of a kitchen, washer/dryer but all the amenities of the resorts. We will be back! ~Susie H. (September 2021)

The pictures don’t do justice to the view from this unit. Because of the building floor plan this unit is among the biggest studious and does not have a balcony— but instead the whole wall facing the ocean opens up and sitting in the alcove you have a panoramic view of the beach and ocean. It’s also great to be able to use the amenities of the Mauna Kea resort and the pools which are a short walk from the unit. Highly recommend. ~Neal S. (August 2021)
This place is incredible with a view overlooking Hapuna Beach. Large doors open and you can sit in the comfortable chairs enjoying the sounds and smells of the ocean. Fully stocked kitchen with very high end appliances including an induction stovetop. Place is much bigger than we expected from the photographs. The convenience factor of being attached to the Westin Hapuna Beach cannot be understated. So nice to wake up and stroll to the coffee shop for some Kona brew or enjoy an evening soak in the hot tub. There is a fee of $75 per day for up to 4 people to use the resort pools and beach amenities. A bargain in my opinion. We would definitely stay here again. ~Jeff H. (July 2021)
