Festivals on the Big Island

If you're planning on visiting the Big Island in April, the Big Island Chocolate Festival is the most delightful event to add to your island itinerary. 

Every winter, Waimea (Kamuela) turns pink for a one-day celebration of cherry blossoms and Japanese-Hawaiian culture. The Waimea Cherry Blossom Heritage Festival honors the historic cherry trees at Church Row Park with music and dance, food and craft vendors, and hands-on cultural demos. 

Every November, Kona celebrates its world-famous coffee beans with ten days of parades, farm tours, tastings, music, hula, and cultural events—the Kona Coffee Cultural Festival, recognized as Hawaiʻi’s oldest food festival (founded in 1970).
