Unit Property Reviews

Description

Built amidst lush forests on the slopes of Kohala Mountain, Stone Crusher Estate is truly a tropical paradise. This 5-bedroom home welcomes travelers who wish to experience island living on an expansive property ripe with adventure. This historic 12-acre property is located on Stone Crusher Road, where the Big Island's sugar plantation past first began, within minutes of the charming towns of Hawi and Kapa'au.

With hints of Balinese architecture, Stone Crusher Estate is accentuated with vaulted wood-beam ceilings, a large wrap-around patio, pocket sliding doors and antique Asian furnishings. This home features a large open space common area with kitchen, dining and entertainment areas ideal for group gatherings. The bedrooms are detached from the main house and feature peaceful garden views.

On the grounds of the estate are two large lawns which is perfect for gatherings, each in excess of one acre, with enormous 100+ year-old native trees giving it a park-like feel. A gazebo, tropical fruit trees and unspoiled forestland can be found throughout the property.

Stone Crusher Estate is offered as a staffed villa with complimentary daily housekeeping and continental breakfast! Be treated daily to organic local fruit, fresh baked pastries, Kona coffee and our signature tea made from herbs that grow on the property grounds. A beautiful outdoor table will be set for breakfast (weather dependent) for guests to awaken each day to island-style splendor. After breakfast the villa staff are available for a couple hours to help keep the property tidy, run errands, assist with planning daily activities and to help with and domestic chores (laundry, ironing/steaming, food prep, or childcare). The villa staff will work from 8am-noon unless other arrangements have been made.

Stone Crusher Estate is located in the historic town of Kapaau in beautiful North Kohala. North Kohala is a sacred place on the Big Island and is the birth place of Hawaii's legendary King Kamehameha. It has an eclectic and earthy community of locals, farmers, artists, holistic practitioners and wanderlust-seekers. The estate is in a discreet location just off of the main road and only a short distance away from the boutiques, restaurants and farmers markets in Hawi and Kapaau. Only 7 miles away you can enjoy the breathtaking view of Pololu Valley and hike down to the black sand beach (one of the top excursions for visitors to the Big island). Within a 20 minute drive you can enjoy all the beautiful white-sand beaches that the Kohala Coast is famous for (Hapuna).
